UPSC requires a recent passport-size colour photograph: 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm, JPG/JPEG format, file size 20–300 KB, white or plain light background, 60–80% face coverage, taken within the last 3–6 months.

Signature must be 3.5 cm × 1.5 cm, JPG/JPEG format, file size 20–300 KB, black or blue ink on white paper, clear and within the box.

UPSC advises against spectacles in photos to avoid complications. If you wear glasses for medical reasons, ensure there is no glare or reflection.
